KEEP THOSE THINGS IN YOUR HEART

Updated: Jul 4, 2021

Luke 2:19 (NLT) But Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.

This scripture is actually referring to when the angel of the LORD appeared before the wise men and what was spoken about the newly born Jesus.

The Lord reveals Himself to us in many ways. Maybe not always an angel, but through His Word, through song, through vision/dreams, or maybe someone has prayed over you or even prophesied over you.

I want to encourage you to keep those things in your heart. Continue to ponder them, bringing them to the forefront of your mind. Pray about them. We have an enemy who seeks to kill, steal, and destroy. If you let him, he will kill, steal, and destroy the Word God has placed in your heart. Instead, I want you to do this. When things seem difficult and like nothing is happening, think about God's character, His heart.

Exodus34:6-7 And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, "The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion, and sin. Yet He does not leave the guilty unpunished; He punishes the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation."

Go back and read this scripture two or three times. Keep it in your heart and meditate on it. What words stick out to you? For me?

  • COMPASSIONATE

  • GRACIOUS

  • SLOW TO ANGER

  • ABOUNDING IN LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS

  • FORGIVING

  • JUST

Proverbs 3:5-6(NIV) tells us, Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Sometimes life gets hard, it doesn't make sense, it's not what you thought it would be or where you thought you would be. KEEP THIS WORD IN YOUR HEART! TRUST HIM! HE will guide you, in His perfect way and His perfect timing!

Joshua 1:8-9 (NIV) Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
